Kirsten Progress Updates
This page tracks Kirsten’s progress after gastric sleeve surgery – her measurements, milestones, and the journey those numbers represent.
She made incredible progress early on, but her story changed direction when she developed Metastatic Crohn’s disease in 2024. Despite those challenges, she continues to inspire me every day with her patience and resilience.

Reflections
Kirsten’s early results were extraordinary – steady, disciplined, and methodical. But by mid-2024, her health began to decline sharply as Metastatic Crohn’s disease took hold.
She was largely bed-ridden for almost a year, but even through that time, she never lost sight of her progress or her goals. Her resilience has been remarkable, and as of late 2025, her treatment is underway.
You can read more about her journey with Crohn’s here.
What’s Next
Kirsten began antibiotics in July 2025 and will start biologic therapy in November.
If all goes to plan, by April 2026, she’ll be healthy enough for us to return to the gym together – starting fresh as a team again.
For now, her focus is entirely on healing, and mine is on being ready when that moment comes.
June 2026 update – I have maintained my weight between 135-140lb, these days I am focused on building up my stamina, Metastatic Crohn’s Disease left me bed ridden for around a year and I have been on a lot of treatments so I don’t have a lot of stamina any more, walking 20 minutes is about all I can manage at the moment, but every week at the moment I’m able to last longer than the previous week, I’m proud that I’ve been able to come out of the other end while still being in the ball park of my target weight.
About this content
This blog is written by James and Kirsten, a couple from the UK who had gastric sleeve surgery together in March 2024.
We started this blog because we couldn't find any sources of content that details before surgery, the surgery and then life post surgery - so we decided to write one ourselves.
Everything on this site is based on our own experience and the research we have done along the way. It is not medical advice. Gastric sleeve surgery is a serious procedure and every patient's journey is different. Please always consult your own bariatric team or GP before making any decisions about your health or treatment.
Some posts on this site may contain featured or sponsored content, or affiliate links. Where this is the case, it will always be clearly stated at the top of the article. Our opinions are always our own.
