Short answer first, because this is one of those questions people usually want settled quickly before they go looking for the fuller explanation: no, a gastric sleeve cannot be reversed. The surgery permanently removes a large portion of the stomach, and there is no tissue left to reattach and no procedure that restores it to its original size. That is genuinely different from an adjustable gastric band, which can be loosened or removed entirely because it is a device sitting around the stomach rather than a permanent change to it.
If the sleeve is not working out, what actually can be done
While the sleeve itself cannot be undone, a different operation, most commonly conversion to a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, can be an option if you develop significant reflux, weight regain, or other complications years down the line. That is a revision to a new procedure, not a reversal of the original one, and it comes with its own recovery and its own decision-making process, not a quick fix bolted onto the first surgery.
